12/1000 - Robert P.

Near my office is a supermarket where I often go to the deli to get lunch.  Robert P. is one of the deli guys.  A native of the Dominican Republic, he resides in Hicksville, NY.  He's an avid baseball player and for some reason a Mets fan.

This is my 12th post and today is 12-12-12.  How cool is that?

11/1000 - Coach

McSorley's Ale House is the oldest Bar in NYC.  Coach has been the weekend doorman for the past 20 years.  That seems long until you realize that the bar is 158 years old.

10/1000 - Suzie A.

I recently participated in a photo show sponsored by the Garden City Bird Sanctuary.  Suzie, who is a local artist is one of their directors.

9/1000 - Richie H.

There is a dead end street behind my office with two houses down at the end.  A few weeks ago I was surprised to hear the "Mr. Softee" ice cream truck song going down the street.  Between the office building and the houses Richie H made a few sales and kept coming back regularly.  He is from Queens, NY and when he's not selling ice cream, likes to draw and ride his motorcycle.

8/1000 - Jorge A.

The houses and roads in my neighborhood are about 60 years old. This year we were treated to a curb to curb redo of our roads, a project that took about 5 months. I would see Jorge A working in different places while on my morning run. He is a supervisor for deBruin Engineering, the firm that oversaw the project. A resident of Flushing (Queens), NY, he is a passionate soccer fan with Real Madrid being his favorite team.

Johann S. recently gave a presentation to my photography club.  He is an accomplished and published nature and bird photographer.  Born in Bavaria, Germany, he is a long time Queens, NY resident.
